About

I’m Abby Hoxha, the CEO and head trainer of ACT, and for the past 10 years, I’ve helped dogs of all breeds and ages learn to be well-behaved, obedient, and happy companions. But that’s not when my story begins.

As you can probably tell from the low-res image above (90s film cameras anyone?), I loved dogs when I was a kid, but I kept falling more and more in love with them whenever I’d visit my grandparents who had and bred bulldogs. How could these furry creatures be so gentle and so courageous at the same time, so sweet and so freaking stubborn?! Those little powerhouses and every other dog encounter I had eventually turned me into a volunteer while I pursued my studies. I worked on animal adoption events and helped with fostering and training until this calling became too loud for me to keep pretending I couldn’t hear it.

Now, as a graduate of the National K-9 Learning Center in Columbus, Ohio and the Off Leash K9 Headquarters Training Academy in Woodbridge, Virginia, I’m a professional dog trainer specialized in obedience training. I also have experience with assistance, Personal Protection Training, Police K-9, Utility, Track, and trailing.
